Recognising leadership across the public purpose sector
Since 2017, the Top 50 Women Awards have recognised outstanding women across Victoria’s public purpose sector, including Commonwealth, state and local government, as well as the broader community. The program acknowledges leaders who are driving high-performing teams, shaping impactful policy and demonstrating a strong commitment to integrity, inclusion and transformation.
This year’s awards will honour 50 women across two categories: Established Leader and Emerging Leader. Each recipient has been selected through a rigorous judging and due diligence process, recognising both achievement and contribution to the sector.
The Established Leader category recognises senior leaders, including Directors, Executive Directors, General Managers and CEOs, who demonstrate impact and influence across the public purpose sector, and role model leadership grounded in integrity, inclusion and transformation.
IPAA Victoria CEO Amanda Stevens said the Awards play an important role in celebrating leadership and creating visibility across the sector.
“The Top 50 Women Awards is an important opportunity to recognise and celebrate the outstanding women leading Victoria’s public purpose sector, the contribution they make to our community and to supporting others to succeed.” she said.
“We look forward to introducing this year’s cohort and sharing their stories of leadership and achievement at the ceremony on 6 August. I encourage our members and colleagues to join us in celebrating these inspiring women.”
The awards not only recognise exceptional leadership, but also provide visible role models for the sector, helping to inspire and support the next generation of women leaders.
Registrations are open for IPAA Victoria’s Top 50 Women Awards ceremony, taking place on Thursday 6 August 2026.
IPAA Victoria acknowledges the support of its partners Davidson, the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and the Victorian Public Sector Commission (VPSC).
