Integrity and Ethical Leadership Program (IELP)
Integrity is a core tenet of the public sector and underpins the community’s trust in the services we deliver. It is widely recognised that a culture of integrity does not just happen; it takes a deliberate and coordinated effort on the part of organisational leaders and is the responsibility of all.
The IELP is designed for public sector employees at all stages of their career to bolster and embed a robust integrity culture in organisations and the public sector, by extending personal practice and building the confidence needed for ethical decision-making.
Co-design and development
The IELP is designed with, and for, the public sector in Victoria, including local government, and state and federal departments, entities and agencies. Over two years, we worked closely with the public sector and expert partners to co-design the IELP and create the Integrity and Ethical Leadership Framework. This includes key supporters, the Victorian Secretaries’ Board and the Victorian Public Sector Commission (VPSC), and principal partner EY.
In 2018 we piloted our flagship program for senior executives – Senior Executive IELP – with 21 senior leaders drawn from Victoria’s diverse public sector. The program was successfully delivered with participants providing invaluable input to shape refinements to the program and insights into key program outcomes.
The foundation for all IELP programs is the Integrity and Ethical Leadership Framework. IELP programs draw on the rich evidence base developed during our co-design process and the expertise of subject matter experts with a deep understanding of public sector integrity and ethical leadership.
IPAA Victoria continues to develop new programs as part of the IELP suite. These programs will be designed for specific cohorts working in the public sector and will be aligned with key public sector career progressions, such as frontline staff, middle managers and board directors.
In addition to offering the Senior Executive IELP, we are currently developing the next program in the IELP suite, the Manager IELP. The Manager IELP will be delivered in 2019 and we will be recruiting for the program in early 2019.
