International Women’s Day 2022

18 Mar 2022

IPAA Victoria’s International Women’s Day Gala Dinner was more than just a great evening – it was a reminder of not only the connections this event creates but also the incredible work being done. This year IPAA Victoria took on the IWD theme of #BreakTheBias and we were joined by an amazing host, Entsar Hamid, IPAA Victoria Deputy President, panel – Moana Weir, Molina Asthana, Captain Mona Shindy CSC and panel host Tasneem Chopra OAM – to explore what this means for women leaders across the sector. It was inspiring to hear from panel members as they shared their personal stories, insights and reflections on their leadership careers.Through their conversation, our speakers highlighted the strength that diversity brings and the value of diverse perspectives in organisations and the public purpose sector. Importantly, they highlighted the roles that allies and mentors have played in their careers, and challenged us to think about what we can each do to create pathways and champion women of colour and ensure true intersectional inclusion. As Entsar repeatedly reminded us, leadership matters, and in Moana, Molina and Mona, the audience was able to hear from three exceptional women leaders. Our ability to hold this wonderful event, and other events throughout the year, relies heavily on the help we receive from our partners. This year’s International Women’s Day Gala would not have been possible without our major partner, KPMG, and supporting partners Maddocks and Fisher Leadership. IPAA Victoria thanks them all!Thank you to each and every one of you who attended. Your presence made the evening a triumph and we hope the event inspired many of you to think about what you can do to help drive change to achieve equity, inclusion and opportunity for women in all their diversity.

We are extremely proud to host events like this, bringing together a diverse range of people from across the public purpose sector to explore critical issues of importance. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s event!
