We congratulate the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) which launched its Recognition Matters initiative in early 2019 with a goal of increasing the number of women honourees recognised in the Order of Australia Honours. DPC partnered with us for the IPAA Victoria Top 50 Public Sector Women 2019 awards. This year 49.6 per cent women were recognised as Victorian honourees (an increase from 43 per cent in 2019 and 35 per cent in 2018) and nationally, the percentage of women recipients in the General Division of the Order of Australia was 41.6 per cent, the largest percentage achieved to date. We are optimistic this positive trend will reach gender parity and more accurately reflect the contribution of women across the Victorian community.
Congratulations to all the well-deserved recipients of the Australia Day Honours List.
