Did your team, organisation or colleagues spearhead an innovative, far-reaching project or initiative that benefited the public sector and the Victorian community? If so, IPAA Victoria wants to hear from you.
Nominations are now open for IPAA Victoria’s Leadership in the Public Sector Awards 2022 using a new, simple online process.
The Leadership Awards are among the highest honours awarded to organisations and teams who work in the public sector. This year’s theme is ‘Innovation, inspiration, impact. Recognising exceptional design and delivery across the public sector’.
The Leadership Awards recognise best practice and innovation in the Victorian public sector, and their significant impact on the community, both now and in the future.
Nominations are open for all levels of government – Federal, State and Local – in Victoria for exceptional projects and initiatives that benefit the community.
Awards open for nomination:
Better Outcomes Through Regulation Award
Citizen-centred Service Design Award
Climate Change Impact and Adaptation Award
Communications and Engagement Excellence Award
Emergency Management Award
Evidence-Based Policy Award
Governance and Integrity Award
Implementing Aboriginal Self-determination Award

This year will also feature a new People’s Choice Award to recognise exceptional projects or initiatives as recognised by peers in the sector. All finalists in the Leadership Awards will be eligible for the People's Choice Award.
In addition, nominations are open for the Emerging Aboriginal Leader Scholarship. This biennial Scholarship supports broad career pathways in the public sector for First Nations employees. The scholarship consists of a 12-month professional development package tailored to the needs of the recipient.
‘As one of IPAA Victoria’s most prestigious recognition programs, this year’s Leadership Awards will highlight how truly diverse, how innovative and how future-focused work in the public sector is in delivering positive outcomes for communities,’ says Nina Cullen, CEO, IPAA Victoria.
‘IPAA Victoria’s Leadership Awards showcase and celebrate the projects and initiatives that represent the best of the work of the public sector. We encourage teams, no matter how big or small, to nominate. We are also keen to recognise collaboration across agencies and with partners to deliver great outcomes for the community. I encourage those that work in the sector to take time to nominate,’ said Jennifer Wolcott, IPAA Victoria Board Member and Awards Committee Chair.
The Leadership Awards play a critical role in IPAA Victoria’s mission to celebrate, connect and empower the public sector.
Nominations close on 20 March 2023.
