Hear directly from the Department of Treasury and Finance
IPAA Victoria’s State Budget Briefing Breakfast is one of our flagship annual events and a key fixture in the public purpose sector calendar. This year State Budget Briefing will once again bring together senior leaders and sector professionals to gain immediate, practical insights following the release of the 2026–27 Victorian State Budget.
Attendees will hear from Chris Barrett, Secretary of the Department of Treasury and Finance, who will share expert analysis and a behind-the-scenes perspective on the development of the budget.
The discussion will unpack the factors that shaped the 2026–27 Budget, explore how its decisions will influence service delivery and community outcomes, and examine the government’s priorities in delivering value across the public purpose sector and for all Victorians.
The breakfast will also feature a panel of leading experts who will offer diverse viewpoints on the budget’s implications, addressing emerging challenges, key opportunities, and the broader economic and social context. Following the panel’s insights, attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with speakers through an interactive Q&A session.
