Sustainability Community of Practice: Retrofitting for Resilience

15 Aug 2024Online

Understanding the barriers and identifying practical options for sustainable housing

Are you a policymaker focused on the sustainability of housing in Victoria? Or professionals involved in housing and construction?

Join us in this webinar where we explore recent research in the Mount Alexander Shire region, providing a practical example of how to ensure housing remains sustainable in the face of climate change.

In this webinar, the speaker, Dr Alison Whitten, will present the key findings from the research, followed by a Q&A session to address your specific questions.

This event is organised by IPAA Victoria’s Sustainability Community of Practice.

Attendees will hear from Dr Alison Whitten on:

      • Lived experience, knowledge and awareness of climate-related risks, household exposure, and home adaptation options
      • The resources, services, and incentives available (or needed) for residents to retrofit their homes
      • Recommendations for local and state government to encourage and enable residents to implement home adaptation solutions

This event will be valuable for all current and aspiring professionals including:

          • Policy makers within the VPS
          • Current public servants focus on housing, urban development, adaptation, insurability, health and wellbeing.
