Mastering Uncertainty: Building capabilities in strategic foresight to help leaders make sense of an uncertain future

Sander is the Director and Co-Founder of SJS Strategy; a scenario planning consultancy that helps organisations navigate a changing world. He is an experienced executive with a deep interest and comprehension of economic, political, technological and investment climate issues.

Before founding SJS Strategy, Sander was the Director of Policy & Research at the Committee for Melbourne where he was responsible for formulating strategies for change that add value to the long-term development of Greater Melbourne. In this role, he led the Melbourne 4.0 Taskforce, which aims to prepare Melbourne for the forces of innovation and disruption brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Claire is a Senior Research Consultant in CSIRO’s Insights team; a research group that specialises in data-driven strategy, foresight and decision making support. CSIRO uses strategic foresight techniques, such as horizon scanning, megatrends, scenario planning and statistical modelling, to explore future trends and uncertainties, and provide insights to inform long-term policy and strategic directions.

Claire works with clients across the public and private sectors and has delivered strategic foresight projects in areas such as the future of employment, healthcare, international trade, transport, the public sector workforce and emerging industries.

Synth is the Director and Co-Founder of SJS Strategy.

He has spent twenty years building his career in transforming businesses and has led and managed large-scale transformation programs working with the Senior Executive teams of major organisations.

Synth has extensive national and international cross-sector experience in sectors ranging from financial services to telecommunications and from health to government and not-for-profit.
