Human rights, leadership and workplace culture

Overview

To mark Human Rights Week 2023, IPAA Victoria, Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (VEOHRC) will hold a special panel discussion to contemplate and explore the theme ‘Creating safe spaces for staff in troubling times – Human rights, leadership and workplace culture’. This event is supported by the Diversity Council Australia

Quite often, incidents and events on a geopolitical scale impact the personal lives of professionals who carry out public services in Australia. In troubling times, individuals rely on the support and care of those around them, including their employers. The challenging circumstances have refocused business leaders’ attention on how we can best create workplaces that are safe and inclusive for staff. How can human rights principles act as a foundation for supportive and empathetic leadership? This panel discussion will offer best practice insights and practical tips for people leaders and professionals in the sector to create a psychologically safe workplace.
