IPAA Victoria: United Nations Public Service Day

22 Jun 2021

Today marks United Nations Public Service Day. This annual day celebrates the value and virtue of public service to the community. This highlights the contribution of public service, recognises the work of public servants and encourages young people to pursue careers in the public sector.

IPAA Victoria is proud of all involved in providing public services including all levels of government, community groups and all other organisations that strive to support community interest and development. We would like to thank you for the hard work that you have engaged in, to support the day to day and longer term initiatives that help individuals, community groups, and the economy. We will continue to shine a light on how amazing and resilient the public sector is.

Victoria has faced some trying times over the last 18 months starting with the 2019 summer bushfires and was further impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic. It is your work that demonstrates how much the public sector workforce is dedicated to serving the community. We want to acknowledge and recognise this amazing work and the tireless service to community.

At IPAA Victoria we strive to connect, empower and celebrate the public purpose sector. We have continued to adapt and shift to support the community during these changing times and will continue to do so to help Victoria keep going and stay active on its feet.

On today , United Nations Public Service Day we wanted to share some impressive stories from our community below.
