The Hub - Contributor Guidelines

Purpose

The Hub is an online content area where articles, case studies, practices and general sector information can be published and read. It provides opportunities for Victorian public purpose people to share ideas, knowledge and to connect with others from the sector.

IPAA Victoria aims to showcase innovative projects, the people and teams that deliver them, and the knowledge and ideas from across the sector in a member-driven collaborative space.

All contributions are unpaid.

The purpose of this document is to provide potential contributors (Author(s)) guidelines on what is expected.

Contributions

Each Author of a contribution to The Hub will be identified. Each contribution must meet these guidelines to be considered for publishing on The Hub.

General Guidelines

Contributions should:

  • Contain information, ideas, knowledge, examples of practice that others in the public purpose sector would be interested in reading and find of value.

  • Avoid ‘people profiles’, advertorials, commercial endorsements.

  • Be between 250 and 2000 words. (Longer contributions may be considered, please contact IPAA Victoria with an overview of your ideas).

  • Where possible, include graphics, charts, diagrams, images or video. (These will need to be emailed separately to thehub@vic.ipaa.org.au after we’ve received your submission)

Be Original

Contributions must:

  • Avoid plagiarism. To avoid the risk of plagiarising, acknowledge all sources with full references and use quotation marks when transcribing material verbatim.

  • Not have been published before. Please advise IPAA Victoria at submission if it has been published (even if on something like LinkedIn etc).

Be Accurate

Contributions must:

  • Clearly state opinions.

  • If required, include clear hyperlinks, annotations or acknowledgements for sources, additional materials etc. These should all be to reputable sources, links, websites etc.

  • Be endorsed by another sector professional like a colleague, manager or practitioner. This is to ensure accuracy, verification of claims, outcomes or other information within the submission. IPAA Victoria may contact this endorser to verify the contribution.
