First ethical leadership program of 2019 comes to a close
Last Thursday 6 June, participants in the first Senior Executive Integrity & Ethical Leadership Program (IELP) of 2019 concluded their three-month, immersive journey. The intimate cohort of participants included senior leaders drawn from across Victoria’s public purpose sector.
In the final ‘wave’ event of the program’s three waves, participants focused on the self, exploring their leadership ripples and psychological safety. Jono Nicholas, a founder and former chief executive officer of ReachOut, delivered a compelling session on wellbeing and resilience.
Kerry Thompson, CEO of the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV), and Cheryl Batagol PSM, Chairperson of EPA Victoria, joined the cohort as ‘wise head’ guest speakers for the final wave. Other wise heads who joined the program included, Chris Eccles AO, Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, and revered ABC Melbourne broadcaster Jon Faine AM.
Throughout the Senior Executive IELP’s three waves, participants have been supported by one-on-one coaching session. They have also formed peer groups and been supported by peer group mentors.
IPAA Victoria will be holding an alumni dinner for participants next month. This will be an opportunity to continue learning, reconnect and further enhance the bonds with peers in the Commonwealth, local government and state tiers.
Beyond ensuring sound integrity systems and processes, the Senior Executive IELP empowers senior leaders to building a positive integrity culture and to practice ethical leadership. In turn, elevating leadership and an organisation’s and the sector’s ability to deliver public value.
Congratulations and thank you to all our March to June Senior Executive IELP participants.
