The Future of Work

22 Mar 2022PwC

Can the public sector return to the way we were, and would we want to?

Overview

Over the past two years, we have not only adopted new media for work such as remote working technology, digital service and collaboration tools; we have also seen change and innovation to the way we work.

We’ve seen greater use of project methods, like regular stand-ups or kanbans to openly manage the work of teams. We’ve seen innovative new practices in engaging clients and understanding their needs. We’ve seen earlier, more regular engagement of stakeholders and decision makers, driving more rapid decision making. We’ve seen expectations of a “9 to 5” day blown wide open, along with more transparent conversations about fatigue, work-life balance and wellbeing.

So as the public sector finds its new rhythm and prepares for a year of further change, including federal and state elections,
