This acclaimed half-day workshop draws on a variety of time-tested strategic thinking models to arrive at a simple framework that can be used to improve almost any public sector task – big or small, policy or operational, individual or as part of a team.

What should you expect?
This highly interactive course involves the presentation of a strategic thinking framework with explanatory case studies, followed by hands-on activities in which the framework is applied to different tasks in policy development, service delivery, advocacy, and stakeholder relationships. Participants will be asked to describe and analyse tasks they are currently working on or planning – and each participant will leave the session with a tangible enhancement to a strategic task in which they are currently involved.
Who is the facilitator?
Dr Dahle Suggett is a highly regarded public policy researcher and consultant with a long history of public service in Victoria and New South Wales. She has previously held positions as Deputy Director-General of Strategy and Policy in the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, Deputy Secretary in the Victorian Department of Education, Assistant Secretary in the Federal Government, and executive management roles in the resource and professional services sectors.
Dahle is currently a Director at PTR Consulting and a Principal Fellow at the University of Melbourne’s Graduate School of Education. As well as a long list of policy achievements in education, innovation and stakeholder engagement for state governments, she continues to deliver executive-level education in strategy development and implementation in Australia, Singapore and Dubai.
