Convincing Conversations - 20 - 21 June 2012
20 Jun 2012
Conversations are the most used and influential ability in a public servant’s repertoire. Too often, our formal and informal conversations lack potency. The result? Time, ideas and innovative solutions are squandered.
This unique two-day workshop offers you the chance to hone your communication skills in both policy and service delivery settings. It is both strategic and insightful and will challenge the current orthodoxy of talk and conversation in team meetings, strategic planning gatherings and more public engagements. This workshop also covers emotional intelligence and provides an excellent opportunity for networking.
The workshop uses actors in role plays to model potent conversations and provide an opportunity for critical evaluation.
You will benefit from this workshop by
- developing an understanding of the dynamics of public sector discussion
- identifying different types of dialogue and when to use them
- being able to find common ground on difficult issues
- presenting complex facts and evidence for maximum impact
