A number of organisations find it difficult to achieve planned outcomes from third party contracts or service agreements. This workshop explores the context and issues often encountered when managing partnerships.

In this workshop participants learn how to assess the contracting environment, scope the project and engage, manage and transition the third party provider. The course content also includes mechanisms to improve accountability, control and contract objectives when collaborating with various partners.

  • learning to identify and manage key risks
  • utilising a contract lifecycle approach in accordance with government policy and procedures
  • interpreting contract forms, designs and mechanisms
  • maintaining compliance and risk management
  • communicating with, engaging and transitioning to third party providers examining tools to deliver contract management schedules and contingency actions
  • identifying the obligations and mechanisms of the public sector in managing third parties
  • hearing practical tips and examples about:
    • government policies
    • managing variations
    • transition in/out – step in/disputes/FM/termination
    • reporting/data verification
    • contract clauses
