Gain the Policy Edge as pathway to post grad

10 June 2009

Participants of the five-day Gain the Policy Edge program now have the option to complete an assessment component which will give them credit towards select post graduate qualifications.

To discuss this opportunity please contact IPAA Program Director Geraldine Kennett on 9653 2005.

The assessment will be based around the live-action policy simulation which takes place in the legislative chamber on the final day of the program.

The upcoming stream also introduces new facilitator Mark Burford who brings over 20 years of policy experience, on everything from climate change to education reform, to the program.

Mr Burford, who until recently worked as a top advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard, joins established GPE facilitators Tim Orton, Kathy Laster and Ian Porter.

Now in its 11th year, Gain the Policy Edge continues to be the professional development program where senior policy leaders cut their teeth.

‘Gain the Policy Edge, helped me create good policy and understand the interaction of policy and government. Best facilitators I have had on a course and a good opportunity to build networks with other participants,' said alumnist Andrew Crow, Manager, Post Acute Services, Department of Human Services.
