New faculty members to lead new courses

Claire Higgins as regional commentator at the 13th Annual IPAA Budget Briefing BreakfastTo meet the changing professional development demands in the public sector, IPAA has developed two new courses; Strategic Thinking with Michael Henry and Financial Management with Claire Higgins.

Claire Higgins, who recently acted as commentator at the 13th annual IPAA Budget Briefing Breakfast, brings 25 years of public and private sector leadership to the one-day Financial Management course on 19 June.

Ms Higgins, whose finance and governance experience spans BHP, One Steel, CFA and the State Emergency Services, will guide participants through the expectations of fiscal management in the public sector. Claire Higgins is the current Chair of Barwon Health.

Michael Henry, Managing Director of the Strategy Shop, will provide participants with a framework for strategic reasoning at the half-day workshop Strategic Thinking on 9 July.

Mr Henry brings to IPAA an extensive consultancy career spanning education, government and corporate affairs. He has worked as a ministerial advisor and has far-reaching experience in the not-for-profit sector. Michael Henry is the current Chair of Oxfam.
