Into Government: Mid-year Orientation for new colleagues

11th May 2009

With more than 3000 people joining the Victorian Public Service each year, effective orientation to government is crucial.

IPAA will conduct its mid-year Into Government Orientation program from 15-17 July.

IPAA brings together three fundamental courses, How Government Works, Protocols and Proprieties and the newly structured Brief Writing course, into one program aimed at demystifying government processes and conventions for those new to the public sector.

Sherridan Bourne from DHS was among the 15 people who completed the inaugural Into Government Orientation in January.

"I thought the program had a good flow on effect and progressed really nicely from a general course, to a more specific course and ending smack on with something really practical," she said.

Attendance of the whole three-day program attracts a reduced rate, but registrations are also welcome for individual courses.
