Breakfast with Ken Henry
On Thursday 10 September IPAA Victoria hosts a Leadership Speaks breakfast presentation by Dr Ken Henry, Secretary to The Treasury, who will discuss the global financial crisis and its implications for government. The event will be held from 7.30am–9.30am in the Laureate Room at Etihad Stadium, Docklands. Book early to secure a place. [Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances this seminar has been rescheduled from its original date of Thursday 27 August, 4pm–6pm.]
This event is an opportunity to hear from Dr Henry about the issues facing our government as a consequence of the global financial crisis, many of which will have far reaching implications.
The global financial crisis has driven almost all major advanced economies into recession. No economy is expected to escape its effects. Dr Henry will cover the thinking behind the various initiatives the Australian Government has taken already in dealing with the global financial crisis and outline how the Government is dealing with competing priorities in a shrinking pool of fiscal resources.
