IPAA Executive Director Kathy Laster moving on

After three successful years as Executive Director of IPAA Victoria, Dr Kathy Laster will resume her academic career.
IPAA Victoria President Fran Thorn praised Kathy’s “vibrant and inspiring leadership which saw the Institute expand the breadth and depth of its services to members as well as the Institute’s role in the wider public sector”. She noted that Kathy’s great legacy at the Institute included the establishment of YIPAA, the doubling of Corporate membership, the implementation of the IPAA Indigenous Initiative, the development and implementation of the 2007-10 Strategic Plan and developing the 2010-13 Strategic Plan. Other significant achievements include overseeing major improvements to IPAA’s governance, including the adoption of a new Constitution in 2009.
On behalf of the Board, Fellows and Members of the Institute Fran extended warm thanks to Kathy, and wished her every success in her next endeavours. Geraldine Kennett, IPAA’s current Program Director and part of the dynamic leadership duo at IPAA Victoria over the last three years, will serve as Acting Executive Director until the decision about a successor is finalised.
