That’s why IPAA Victoria, NSW and ACT are hosting the inaugural IPAA Regional Public Administration Conference on 15 to 16 March at the Albury Entertainment Centre.
The IPAA Victoria Leadership in the Public Sector Awards identifies, recognises and celebrates the achievements of teams and individuals
Mr Terry Moran, IPAA Fellow and former secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Australia's top public servant, was recognised in the Australia Day 2012 Honours List. Mr Moran has been at the heart of Federal and State governments in Australia for over 20 years and was one of just five people to receive our top award, the AC, namely the Companion in the General Division of the Order of Australia.
Australia's economic future depends heavily on our relationships with the economic and demographic giants that live in our region. Two major international speakers at IPAA's 2012 International Congress in Melbourne 18-20 September 2012 will offer Australian administrators unique insights into public administration in China and India.
Mr Yehudi Blacher, National Vice President of the Institute of Public Administration Australia, was recognised as part of the Australia Day 2012 Honours List. Mr Blacher received the Public Service Medal for his outstanding service in the instigation, promotion and implementation of innovative reforms in public administration.
Applications to be part of the 2012 Peer Plus Mentoring Program, run by IPAA in conjunction with the Australian Mentor Centre, are underway. The cut-off date has been extended to Wednesday 25 January to allow for those last-minute applications!
IPAA Victoria Fellow and Deputy Secretary at the Department of Business and Innovation, Alf Smith passed away suddenly on 17th January 2012. Alf was made an IPAA Victoria Fellow in 2006 and was always generous in sharing his professional expertise and experience, particularly in managing large capital works projects.
Museum Victoria Chief Executive Officer Dr Patrick Greene has been appointed the new Chair of the Council of Australasian Museum Directors (CAMD).
