Win an iPad 2 by registering early for the IPAA 2012 Congress
A quick update about the IPAA 2012 Congress, which will be one of the biggest gatherings of public administrators ever held in Australia. Plus did someone say "Register now and win an iPad"? [Yes we did!] Register by 26 January 2012.
New speakers confirmed
We already have a range of great speakers and in the last few days we have added two more.
- Dennis Richardson, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and former Director-General of ASIO has agreed to speak on the complex world of secrecy and public administration.
- We will also have Peter Mitchell, the public servant who ran the Villawood Detention Centre. His new book "Compassionate Bastard" talks frankly about the challenges facing public servants whose jobs require them to undertake difficult and confronting work.
Watch a movie and become a researcher...
We are now recruiting reviewers for our Public Servants On The Silver Screen research project. All you have to do is watch one of the 100 most popular Australian films of all time, fill in an online survey and your work will become part of a unique crowd-sourced Australian/US research project to be presented at the IPAA 2012 Congress. How are public servants portrayed in films and do Australian and Hollywood films differ in the images of public administration that they show? You’re just a click away from selecting your film or getting more info.
Special offer - win an iPad 2
Early birds deserve a worm and so all Congress registrations received by 26 January 2012 will go into a draw for a WiFi/3G enabled iPad 2. You could be one of those administrators we all secretly envy at meetings, just by registering for the Congress before Australia Day. Plus you get to tick off a Professional Development activity for 2012!
You can register right now on the Congress website.
