Mission
To enhance the capacity, integrity and reputation of the
public sector in Victoria.
About Us
The Institute of Public Administration Australia Victorian Division (IPAA Victoria) is the not-for-profit professional association for the wider public sector, including public servants and other public sector professionals working in the community, tertiary and private sectors
Strategic Objective 2010-13
To be the forum where the public sector comes together to learn, debate, share experiences and explore new ideas to build an integrated and high achieving public sector.
Our Priorities 2010-13
Over the next three years, we will:
- strengthen our networks and collaboration across and between levels of government
- raise the reputation of the public sector internally as well as in the wider community
- expand our offerings to build the capacity and integrity of the public sector
- build the services and support we offer our members
What we offer
- Professional Development which builds the knowledge, skills and reputation of those working for or with the public sector
- Events that foster networks and provide opportunities for creative interaction between those working for or with the public sector
- Awards that encourage, recognise and reward excellence and achievement in public administration by individuals and organisations
- Resources that offer accessible and authoritative information on public administration in a variety of formats
- Leadership projects that encourage innovation in public sector administration
- Support for our members through our activities as the professional association for public servants and other public sector professionals in Victoria
Get involved
You can get involved in IPAA in a range of ways:
- participate in IPAA’s wide range of leadership events and professional development activities
- develop specialist skills and networks through one of the Communities Of Practice hosted by IPAA
- nominate high performing individuals and groups for IPAA’s awards
- encourage young people in the public sector to become involved in Young IPAA (YIPAA)
- partner with IPAA to host an event on a particular issue
- support the IPAA Indigenous Initiative which provides targeted career advice and professional development opportunities
- contribute to IPAA’s oral history project, preserving the story of public administration in Victoria
- attend IPAA’s 2012 International Congress in Melbourne
- subscribe to i-NEWS, IPAA’s online newsletter
- engage in the Institute’s governance through the Board or one of our advisory committees
