Constitution

The Victorian Division of the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA Victoria) operates under the Incorporated Associations Act (1981). The Constitution enshrines the principles under which the Institute operates. It is based on the Model Rules for an Incorporated Association published by the Department of Justice in Victoria.

Our objectives (as laid out in Clause 3 of our Constitution)

3.1.1 Be the association of choice for people involved in or with the public sector and in particular for managers engaged in public policy development;
3.1.2 Promote the image of public administration in Victoria and raise public awareness of its role and value;
3.1.3 Promote debate on public administration issues affecting the government and non-government sectors;
3.1.4 Support research on public administration;
3.1.5 Promote ethical standards and integrity in the practice of public administration;
3.1.6 Promote a national and international exchange of ideas, networks and good practice in public administration and management;
3.1.7 Offer professional development programs and events;
3.1.8 Administer awards which promote excellence in public administration; and
3.1.9 Encourage cooperation and building of networks across all levels of government and the broader public sector.
