In Victoria, our mission is to enhance the reputation of the public sector and support the development of the profession in Victoria.
IPAA Victoria is a strategic element in ensuring the continuing discussion and development of what is important in and about the public sector in our time and into the future.
I am totally convinced of the need to aim for the continuous improvement and strengthening of the public sector. To this end, IPAA in Victoria has evolved as a pre-eminent provider of professional development, supporter of fellowship amongst public sector colleagues and a stimulator of debates about the value, role and future of the public service. We need this encouragement to challenge us to achieve more in the fundamental service role played by all members of the public sector.
Like other sectors in Australian life we face many challenges, not the least of these being the aging of our workforce, the search for our new and younger leaders, and questioning of the relevance of our role in a world experiencing extraordinary and fast moving change.
IPAA can play a key role in the transitions caused by these challenges and it is my absolute commitment and privilege to serve IPAA at this time.
